Maureen Legg brings her trademark strategy and copywriting skills to benefit the diverse marketing needs of her clients. Her more than 20-year career in the marketing arena has included consulting for many prominent organizations and professionals, as well as acting as publicist for an HGTV celebrity, launching the marketing of a regional arts center and managing clients for one of the California’s most renowned public relations agencies.

Since 1998, Legg Work Marketing & Communications has consulted with clients on a variety of marketing projects, from copywriting and collateral production to promotions and publicity, advertising, networking, direct mail and general marketing research, planning and strategy. Notably, Maureen was instrumental in the launch of HGTV personality Joan Kohn’s first book, It’s Your Kitchen: Over 100 Inspirational Kitchens, and has continued on as her publicist for her subsequent books. Maureen served as the first marketing director of the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, an $81-million multi-disciplinary arts center that presents performances, visual arts and education programs and offers full-service banquet and meeting services.

Disciplined professional forward-thinking marketing

As an account executive at Stoorza, Ziegaus & Metzger, Maureen managed special events, media, community and public relations programs for what was then California’s largest and the nation’s 18th largest independent public relations agency. Among her accounts were the San Diego Convention Center, San Diego County Water Authority, Comite de Turismo y Convenciones de Tijuana, San Diego Padres, San Diego Auto and Home Shows, Pardee Construction Company, Paragon Steakhouse Restaurants, McDonald’s, Hologram Time Traveler (first 3-D video game), and Thermoscan Ear Thermometer (first ear thermometer).

Maureen began her career as an advertising coordinator and contributing writer for Hare Publications, publishers of Police and Emergency national trade magazines. Over the years, she has been a contributing writer for various publications, including Copley News Service, San Diego Home/Garden magazine, Metropolitan and the University of San Diego. She frequently pens articles under her clients’ byline for a variety of consumer and trade publications.

Maureen earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of San Diego. She also studied abroad at St. Clare’s Hall in Oxford, England.
