The City of Escondido committed itself to the future by embarking on an innovative downtown revitalization program, the centerpiece of which was a 12- acre, $81-million arts center that was anticipated to attract 250,000 visitors annually. As the Center’s first marketing director, Maureen strategized and implemented marketing campaigns from project development to opening through the fifth anniversary season. She led a marketing team responsible for supporting the achievement of CCAE’s earned and contributed income goals in excess of $5 million annually. During her tenure, both awareness of and audience participation in programs increased and the Center achieved an economic impact of nearly $7 million on the City of Escondido.
